We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at Gaudenzia. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
Responsibilities- Perform initial nursing assessments for clients within 24 hours of admission, ensuring compliance with established program policies and state regulations.
- Arrange appointments with healthcare providers to secure physical examinations, health screenings, and necessary tests.
- Administer medications and supervise self-administered medications, adhering to regulatory guidelines and agency policies.
- Maintain accurate records of medical supplies and inventory, ensuring compliance with governing regulations and agency standards.
- Counsel clients on nutrition, healthcare, self-care, and symptom management.
- Ensure clients have adequate medical coverage, guaranteeing safety, proper care, and provider compliance for payment.
- Implement health seminars on topics such as HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, and more.
- Participate in treatment and multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed.
- Implement and ensure adherence to infection control policies and practices.
- Provide education to clients on health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
- Maintain LPN licensure with good standing.
- Required to work weekends at least once a month, including one off-shift per week, to ensure program coverage.
- May be required to work shifts outside of assigned shifts during critical staffing shortages.
- The minimum holiday requirement is 1 major summer holiday and 1 major winter holiday, with other holidays rotated amongst staff.
- This position is deemed essential and will be required to work during inclement weather.
- For Gaudenzia sites with multiple programs, you may be required to work in any of the programs based on staffing needs.
