Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Part-Time Farm Pickup Driver to join our team at Dairy Farmers of America. As a Farm Pickup Driver, you will be responsible for transporting raw milk from farm to processing plant or trucking terminal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Dairy Farmers of America rules, regulations, and policies, adhering to all safety practices.
  • Dispatch and Scheduling: Follow dispatch schedule and directions from dispatch and location supervisory personnel, traveling to locations to transport raw milk.
  • Quality Control: Transfer raw milk from farm containers to trailer, take quality and control samples at farm, measure milk loaded into trailer, and apply seals properly and document seal numbers to paperwork to ensure traceability and security of load.
  • Communication: Maintain positive communications with producers, listen for issues or potential problems, and report producers' comments to transportation and member services management.
  • Professional Representation: Always represent Dairy Farmers of America positively and professionally during interactions with producers, customers, or regulatory personnel.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent preferred, current CDL (Class A) in state of residence, tanker endorsement, and minimum of 1-year verifiable CDL driving experience (military experience does count towards this requirement).
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements, ability to communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing, basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), ability to read and record accurate volume and weight measurement, good organization and record keeping skills, and punctuality.
