Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Tanker Truck Driver to transport raw milk from our Shoreham Farm to our processing plant or trucking terminal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, and policies, adhering to all safety practices.
  • Follow dispatch schedules and directions from dispatch and location supervisory personnel to transport raw milk.
  • Transfer raw milk from farm containers to the trailer.
  • Take quality and control samples at the farm.
  • Measure milk loaded into the trailer.
  • Apply seals properly and document seal numbers to paperwork to ensure traceability and security of the load.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel.
  • Minimize truck idle times and conserve fuel consumption.
  • Maintain positive communications with producers, listen for issues or potential problems, and report producers' comments to transportation and member services management.
  • Represent DFA positively and professionally during interactions with producers, customers, or regulatory personnel.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Current CDL (Class A) in the state of residence.
  • Tanker endorsement.
  • Minimum of 1-year verifiable CDL driving experience.
  • Ability to meet all DOT requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and record accurate volume and weight measurements.
  • Good organization and record-keeping skills.
