Job Description

We are seeking a Pharmaceutical Specialist to join our team at Bitting's Pharmacy.

The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for dispensing drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners. This involves:

  • Compound and dispense prescribed medications in accordance with prescription instructions and relevant legislation.
  • Advise physicians and health practitioners on the interactions and side effects of medications, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Provide patients with pertinent drug information, including dosage instructions, potential side effects, and contraindications.
  • Proactively review prescriptions for proper dosage, taking into account patient age, weight, and medical history.
  • Supervise and maintain records of all medications, adhering to strict quality control procedures.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience in pharmacy or other medical fields, demonstrating a strong understanding of pharmaceutical principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, enabling effective decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing seamless interaction with healthcare professionals, patients, and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in medication dispensing and record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational skills, managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
