Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrician Apprentice to join our team at Killeen Independent School District. As an Electrician Apprentice, you will assist electricians in installing and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather tools and supplies for work sites
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit
  • Drill holes for wiring and pull or push wiring through openings
  • Trace out short circuits in wiring
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors
  • Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches
  • Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order
  • Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment
  • Clean work areas, machines, tools, and equipment
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience in electrical service preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
