Overview:
Job Summary

Ensure a safe and pristine store environment. Deliver consistently friendly and courteous service to both internal and external customers. Undertake various related tasks.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Actively seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve, and express gratitude to customers. Foster an atmosphere of friendly and enthusiastic service, prioritizing customer care.


Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the store for both customers and employees by performing regular and as-needed cleaning tasks.

Ensure floors are free of spills (sales floor, backroom, restrooms, office, breakroom, etc.) through sweeping and mopping.

Keep sweep logs updated.

Empty trash receptacles and bins throughout the store's interior and exterior.

Maintain cleanliness in office and employee breakroom areas.

Wipe down all walls and appliances (including pop machines, vending machines, ATMs, cases, rails, etc.)

Sanitize all restroom floors, fixtures, and appliances.

Clean display cases and glass doors throughout the store.

Oversee the cleanliness of can return machines and areas (including wiping down machines and emptying bins).

Dust and vacuum store facilities.

Assist with replacing lamps in light fixtures.

Thoroughly clean and scrub backrooms.

Engage courteously with customers.

May assist in collecting and returning shopping carts from the parking lot as necessary.

Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Ability to:
Provide consistently friendly and courteous service to internal and external customers.

Work varied hours typically between 9:00 am and 10:00 pm in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Read and follow both verbal and written instructions.

Lift moderate weights (up to 30 lbs.).

Crawl, bend, stoop, climb, balance, reach, walk, push, pull, and maneuver in tight spaces, including climbing on ladders and scaffolding.

Utilize all types of approved cleaning chemicals and solvents.

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions (cold, hot, rain, snow, and sleet).

Respond promptly to audible pages for spill clean-up, customer service, accidents, and emergencies.

Communicate effectively (hearing & speech) with customers and fellow employees.

Learn safety and departmental policies and procedures.

Be at least 16 years of age.

Perform primary duties with efficiency and accuracy.

Additional Requirements:
Food Handlers Certification (as per State Laws).

Machines and Equipment Operated:
Pallet jacks, hand trucks, garbage and cardboard compactors.

Automatic floor scrubbing machines.

Electric shopping cart caddies.

Various hand tools.

For minors hired, hours may differ as well as machines and equipment operated.
