Certified Respiratory Care Specialist

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is dedicated to understanding and embodying the mission and standards of conduct of University Hospitals. This professional is responsible for executing essential respiratory therapy tasks with minimal oversight while undergoing orientation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administering mechanical ventilation
- Delivering medicated aerosol treatments
- Conducting airway clearance procedures
- Monitoring patient conditions
- Providing oxygen and humidity therapy
- Performing special procedures such as CPR, handling specialty gases, conducting bronchoscopy, and patient transport
General Requirements
- Completing additional tasks as assigned.
- Adhering to all institutional policies and standards.
- Refer to departmental documentation for specific responsibilities during orientation.
- Ensuring the secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with training and institutional policies.
Educational Background:
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is mandatory
- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred
Licensure and Certifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license to practice in Ohio is essential
- Membership in the AARC is highly regarded
Preferred Experience:
A minimum of one year of recent clinical experience is preferred, with prior hospital experience being advantageous. The work schedule consists of night shifts from Monday to Friday, including rotating weekends and holidays.
Incentives:
New hires working 35 hours or more will receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus, distributed as follows: $3,000 after 90 days of employment and $7,000 after one year, contingent on performance.
