Packaging Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Packaging Specialist to join our team at Workbox Staffing. As a Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for packaging small automotive parts after they come out of the press. Your duties will include assembling boxes or containers, accurately counting parts, labeling, and stacking containers on pallets. You will also verify records, inspect materials for quality, and ensure a clean, safe workspace by following safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble cardboard boxes, crates, or prepare returnable containers as required for parts packaging.
- Package parts according to part number, count, and follow specific instructions outlined in the packaging work order.
- Create and affix labels and other necessary identifying information on packaged containers.
- Stack packaged parts on pallets as per requirements and fill pallets based on container size.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following 5S, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Packaging background required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail, particularly for customer-specific requirements.
- Ability to work overtime during shifts when necessary.
- Willingness to stop production in the event of quality or machine issues and notify the supervisor.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 and/or ISO 14001 standards is preferred.
