Requirements

To be eligible for the Nucor Technical Academy, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum GPA of 2.75. Additionally, candidates must provide ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer scores and submit a one-page essay explaining their career goals and how their work history and activities make them a strong candidate for the program.

What to Expect

Candidates will begin academic coursework online and participate in limited on-the-job training at their sponsoring Nucor division. They will then relocate to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where they will complete five continuous semesters of technical courses and on-the-job training at Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa. Throughout the program, candidates will have opportunities to return to their sponsoring divisions between semesters.
