Job Overview

PRIMARY ROLE:

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and discipline of students during transportation to and from school.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/ABILITIES:

  • Successful completion of annual physical assessment.
  • Training in safety protocols and operational procedures as directed by the district.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions effectively.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with the operation of specialized equipment for students with disabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure each student disembarks at their designated school.
  • Assist students in transporting personal belongings to and from school.
  • Maintain student seating arrangements and ensure compliance.
  • Keep the bus interior clean and orderly after each route.
  • Provide assistance to daycare students during pick-up and drop-off.
  • Utilize seat belts or harnesses for students requiring additional safety measures.
  • Implement emergency procedures to safeguard passengers effectively.
  • Document student behavior issues using appropriate forms.
  • Manage student discipline on regular education routes.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and via radio.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the director or designated personnel.
