We are currently seeking a part-time Surgical Technician to contribute to our mission. This role requires availability every Monday from 6am to 2pm. The Surgical Technician will be responsible for preparing and managing surgical cases, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain patient comfort and implement safety protocols.
- Anticipate and prepare necessary instruments and equipment based on patient assessments.
- Set up the surgical environment by organizing supplies and ensuring a sterile field.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of the operating room between procedures.
- Utilize surgeon preference cards to ensure all necessary items are available for each case.
- Assist in the movement of patients post-surgery and maintain a clean workspace.
Preparation for Surgical Procedures:
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to identify specific requirements.
- Assist in establishing a sterile field during procedures.
- Support the surgeon by anticipating needs throughout the operation.
- Monitor and report any breaches in sterile technique.
- Ensure accurate counts of surgical instruments and materials post-operation.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Restock the operating room and sterile supply areas regularly.
- Prepare for upcoming surgical cases by organizing necessary equipment and supplies.
- Maintain sterilization protocols for all instruments used.
- Assist in the training of new staff members within the operating room.
- Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an accredited surgical technician program with certification.
Experience: A minimum of one year in a surgical technician role, with proficiency in instrument sterilization and operating room maintenance.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of efficiency and professionalism.
