  • Bake all items as guest traffic demands while ensuring that oven temperatures are correct and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Finish product to a specific visual requirement in accordance with the bakery standard and quality control procedures.
  • Inspect product for quality control during and after baking processes and adjust processes as needed to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Secure, clean, and maintain work areas, utensils, and equipment; promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment, including giving and receiving feedback and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Alert management of any food shortages, quality control issues, problems with any utensils or equipment, or any other unusual conditions.
  • Help maintain organization and cleanliness and restock product as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Hard skills: Demonstrable baking knowledge and experience with scratch baking.
  • Soft skills: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative; ability to multitask while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience: 2-3+ years of food service or scratch baking experience required.
  • Special training or licenses/certifications: Texas Food Handlers Certification required upon hire.
  • General availability: Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and special events.

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

The employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The employee routinely uses sinks, ovens, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
