Position Overview:

• The Logistics Route Engineer is tasked with evaluating and enhancing daily service routes across numerous market centers and a substantial fleet of vehicles, aligning with corporate strategic goals.

• This role involves providing analytical insights into route planning, supported by data accuracy, route modeling, and engineering, aimed at improving operational performance and guiding market centers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Integral team member in a dynamic, high-volume fulfillment environment, responsible for strategic oversight, process execution, and timely delivery of route optimization solutions.

• Capable of making critical business decisions regarding opportunity identification, resource allocation, and prioritization of route optimization initiatives for a major supply chain organization.

• Conduct continuous engineering and optimization of service routes to enhance efficiency and labor trends, providing baseline performance data and projected outcomes.

• Engage and guide team members in data integrity efforts to ensure accurate route outputs.

• Assist in generating and disseminating delivery metrics, including baseline and projected productivity metrics for the execution team post-implementation.

• Recognized as the company expert in route engineering software and statistical route data.

• Develop process guidance documentation (Standard Operating Procedures) and project timelines for ongoing and future initiatives.

• Collaborate with key departments and market centers on route maintenance opportunities in response to business changes and growth prospects.

STATUS AND SCOPE:

• This role is part of a broader strategic initiative aimed at achieving operational efficiencies while enhancing customer service and delivery performance. The Logistics Route Engineer will report directly to the Director of Route Solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in complex supply chain and logistics operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of route optimization principles or the aptitude to learn route modeling techniques.
  • Demonstrated operational and technical expertise.
  • Strong analytical and data skills in developing actionable KPIs and metrics related to service and cost.
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for delivering service excellence.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
