Job Description

Invenergy, a leading energy solutions provider, is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager, Government Affairs to join our growing Public Affairs team in Sacramento. This key role will report directly to the Vice President for Government Affairs and be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to educate and influence government policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop positions on California energy policies and effectively advocate for Invenergy's interests at agencies, legislative offices, and within stakeholder groups.
  • Work closely with Invenergy businesses and departments to execute strategies and develop relationships with government stakeholders.
  • Build and foster relationships with government officials, trade organizations, and peer companies to advance Invenergy's corporate goals.
  • Engage with CA legislative leaders and staff to further company objectives.
  • Manage issues that arise before assigned political bodies and provide updates on policy advocacy efforts.
  • Assist with public affairs and governmental affairs programs, including relationship management and local government affairs.
  • Build industry coalitions in support of priorities and work constructively with trade organizations and peer companies.
  • Prepare regular reports and briefings for internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of lobbying or relevant experience in California, preferably on energy issues.
  • Substantial external contact responsibility and experience building partnerships with policymakers and stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of clean energy policy, solar/wind/storage technologies, and transmission.
  • Proven leadership track record and relationships within State Government Agencies/Administration.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a corporate environment as a remote employee.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $125,000.00-$160,000.00.
  • Eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401(k), bonus, paid time off, etc.
