POSITION TITLE: Senior Fleet Maintenance Technician
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a Senior Fleet Maintenance Technician to conduct maintenance and repairs on a variety of trucks and construction machinery. The ideal candidate will possess advanced diagnostic and repair expertise, a customer-focused mindset, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment, complemented by a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute preventative maintenance and complex repairs on Class 1 – Class 8 trucks.
  • Diagnose and repair engines of all sizes, intricate electrical systems, advanced hydraulic systems (including the fabrication of new hoses), electric/air brake trailers, A/C systems, and all HVAC components.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on both light and heavy construction equipment.
  • Perform advanced fabrication tasks using Acetylene torch, plasma cutter, Mig and Arc Welders.
  • Occasionally visit active construction sites to carry out various repairs.
  • Conduct Annual DOT inspections on necessary trucks and trailers.
  • Complete detailed work orders accurately after each task.
  • Provide guidance and support to fellow technicians and ongoing assistance to Senior technicians.
  • Perform thorough Pre-Trip inspections before operating company vehicles.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

  • Advanced knowledge of various diagnostic and scanning equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This role is based in a Fleet Services shop environment.
  • Must be able to work in various physical positions, including sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and driving.
  • Regular exposure to diverse weather conditions, particularly during spring, summer, and fall, along with indoor work in climate-controlled settings.
  • May encounter distracting sounds or noise levels at project sites.
  • Required to wear standard protective safety gear, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and high-visibility vests when on-site.
  • Maintain a tidy appearance and adhere to uniform standards at all times.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Service Technician working on various sizes of trucks and construction equipment.
  • Formal technical training and certification preferred but not mandatory.
  • 8 ASE Medium Heavy truck, Air Brake Inspector, and DOT Inspector certifications preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • A/C 609 Certification is required.
  • Class A CDL with Tanker endorsements preferred; ability to obtain within 90 days of hire is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
