The Inventory Control Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Inventory Manager to ensure the efficient functioning of the inventory department.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
Delivering exceptional customer service as the top priority.
Demonstrating integrity, accountability, and excellence while adhering to all company policies.
Assisting the inventory department manager in accurately processing all incoming products, including checking for dates, accuracy, and damages.
Scanning all incoming and outgoing merchandise.
Organizing products for effective delivery to the sales area.
Timely and accurate processing of purchase orders, return purchase orders, mispicks, invoices, and related paperwork.
Investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
Communicating with department managers regarding delivery challenges and vendor stock shortages.
Following up on special orders.
Operating forklifts and pallet jacks as necessary.
Maintaining a tidy and organized backroom.
Collaborating with department managers to address performance issues within the team.
Supporting store opening and closing tasks, including daily sales reporting and cash handling responsibilities.
Managing register functions, including backup cashiering, handling customer returns, addressing complaints, and covering register shifts during breaks.
Assisting in the training and supervision of department personnel, including assigning and following up on tasks.
Taking the initiative to provide additional support in the store and covering the sales floor when inventory duties are completed.
Continuously enhancing product knowledge.
Utilizing inventory management software and other information systems as required.
Working a flexible schedule based on store needs, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position requires a commitment of five days, 40 hours per week, and attendance at mandatory store meetings.
This role has limited Manager on Duty responsibilities and is not intended to serve as the overall Manager on Duty for the store.
While this is a general outline of job responsibilities, all employees are expected to be proactive and do whatever it takes to contribute to the success of the company.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
At least one year of experience in a grocery, retail, or inventory environment is preferred; a background in natural foods is advantageous.
One year of experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
Ability to obtain forklift certification.
Ability to complete food safety training courses and/or certifications as required by law and maintain compliance by keeping certifications current.
A sense of urgency in completing assignments.
Excellent customer service skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks.
Must be trained in cashiering and capable of handling cash transactions.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to consistently lift or carry up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or carry 11-20 lbs., and occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs. Must also be able to occasionally lift or carry heavier items with assistance.
Must frequently push or pull up to 15 lbs. and occasionally push or pull heavier items.
Must be able to walk, stand, use fine motor skills, grip, bend, twist, turn, and reach outward for the duration of the work shift. Frequent reaching above chest level is required.
Occasional sitting, squatting, kneeling, and climbing may be necessary.
Environmental Requirements:
Must be able to frequently work with sharp tools and equipment, dust, fumes, and in congested work areas. Occasional exposure to noise, cold, heat, wet, humid conditions, heights, and contact stress may occur.
