Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting health and preventing disease in our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to populations with special needs during disasters and emergencies
  • Focus on the prevention of illness, injury, or disability, and the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations
  • Administer and dispense medications and vaccines based on nursing assessment and according to established nurse protocol
  • Provide education to clients, families, and community partners
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Record to accurately document patient care and enter billing information for reimbursement
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire
  • Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
  • CPR certification
