Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Healthcare Representative to join our team at Carle Health. As a Patient Healthcare Representative, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients and referral sources, ensuring a positive experience with our home medical equipment and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely preparation of work orders for delivery, drop-ship, or pick-up.
  • Answer telephone calls, take and deliver messages according to department communication standards.
  • Collect customer co-pay amounts per company policy.
  • Maintain an advanced understanding of third-party payer guidelines, especially Medicare Part B.
  • Ensure the retail area is well-organized, with products priced, and shelves stocked and clean.
  • Prepare and submit all paperwork and reports as required by Carle Health policy.
  • Provide minor equipment repairs and maintain repair reports.
  • Offer product education and demonstrations, as well as retail assistance to CMS customers.
  • Resolve customer concerns, questions, and complaints by identifying problems and coordinating corrective action.
  • Suggest, develop, and promote new products or services of benefit to CMS customers.
  • Verify insurance coverage and communicate to patients their financial responsibility if any.
  • Maintain adequate retail and rental inventory, assisting with ordering supplies or equipment when needed.
  • Bring opportunities to leadership along with solutions.
  • Work with provider offices to ensure a good working relationship by providing instruction on insurance rules and regulations.
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine if the order can be filled.
  • Perform measurements on patients to determine proper fit for compression garments.
  • Assemble products such as walkers to meet specific patient needs.
  • Responsible for accurate account set-ups, including entering demographic patient information, loading insurance, and accurately completing the order for billing.
  • Meet productivity standards by producing work orders at a level that meets department goals.
