Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Surgery team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and plan individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Implement and coordinate care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and revise plans as needed.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting self-management and empowerment.
  • Function as a preceptor to new staff, fostering a culture of excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in professional development activities, staying current with best practices and evidence-based care.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities, demonstrating leadership and expertise.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety, quality, and customer service.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Proficient in use of computer software, including electronic patient records.
