Job Summary:

As a Sterile Compounding Specialist at MedStar Health, you will play a critical role in preparing medications for our patients. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately compound and prepare medications according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to strict sterile technique guidelines.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely medication preparation.
  • Contribute to the achievement of departmental goals and objectives, adhering to quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on the latest compounding techniques and regulations.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year 6 months experience working in a pharmacy required.
  • Registered technician in Maryland and pharmacy technician certification through a nationally accredited certification examination (such as PTCB) required.

Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to chemicals and medications. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
