Job Summary

As a Monitor Technician at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center, you will be responsible for communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Your primary duties will include observing and evaluating real-time cardiac and telemetry monitors, managing unit secretarial activity, and ensuring the proper functioning of monitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Simultaneously observe and evaluate real-time cardiac and telemetry monitors
  • Manage unit secretarial activity, including assembling and disassembling patient charts, transcribing orders, and using computers
  • Examine heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph monitors and make notes of irregular rhythms and changes in heartbeat
  • Ensure that monitors are functioning properly and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Perform a variety of tasks and work under general supervision, typically reporting to a supervisor or manager
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree preferred and at least 1 year of experience in the field
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
