Job Title: World Language Teacher

The Newark Board of Education is seeking a qualified World Language Teacher to join our team. As a World Language Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of students with varying intellectual and special abilities.
  • Evaluate student progress on a regular basis and prepare progress reports.
  • Develop and maintain professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
  • Supervise out-of-classroom activities for pupils during the assigned working day, as required.
  • Communicate with parents and pupil personnel staff members on the individual pupil's progress and development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in World Language.
  • Possession of a current and valid teaching certificate in the appropriate subject/content area issued by the New Jersey Department of Education.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Salary: $62,000 - $104,550
  • Employment Period: Ten (10) Months
  • Union Affiliation: Newark Teacher's Union (NTU)
