POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Culinary Preparation Specialist is responsible for the meticulous preparation of all food items that require pre-opening tasks, ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently during scheduled shifts, in line with company standards and specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare a variety of cold dishes, including salads, dressings, and canapés.
  2. Efficiently assemble sandwiches, whether on a short-order basis or in larger quantities.
  3. Maintain an adequate supply of coffee and tea throughout the shift.
  4. Collaborate effectively with Cooks, Stewards, Supervisors, Chefs, Servers, and other team members to ensure a seamless kitchen operation.
  5. Adhere strictly to recipes and control procedures to maintain quality.
  6. Slice and portion cold meats and cheeses as required.
  7. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the work area, complying with State Health Regulations.
  8. Uphold confidentiality and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  9. Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance as per company policy.
  10. Exemplify the values and standards of FireKeepers Casino Hotel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must possess the necessary education, training, and experience to demonstrate the ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. FireKeepers reserves the right to assess candidates' qualifications through interviews and testing.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and effectively communicating with groups. Proficient in basic mathematical operations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to identify problems, gather data, and draw logical conclusions. Capable of interpreting various technical instructions and managing multiple variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires regular communication, standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, or crawling may be necessary. Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in various areas of the facility, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud. The ability to work in a smoke-filled environment is required.

INDIAN PREFERENCE:

Indian preference will be applied in the selection of qualified applicants in accordance with the NHBP Indian Preference in Employment Code.
