Job Title: Climate Policy Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Policy Strategist to join our team at Voices for Progress. As a key member of our advocacy department, you will play a critical role in shaping the organization's policy and legislative agenda.

Job Description

The Climate Policy Strategist will lead the organization's policy and legislative work federally and for California state. This includes monitoring and analyzing federal and CA state policies, identifying key policy debates, and developing effective advocacy strategies. You will also collaborate with membership and programming staff to design and implement member advocacy plans and oversee the creation of policy materials for advocacy efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and expand relationships with lawmakers, government staff, and allied policy advocacy organizations
  • Lead the policy department in monitoring and analyzing federal and CA state policies
  • Develop and implement effective short and long-term policy advocacy agendas
  • Collaborate with membership and programming staff to design and implement member advocacy plans
  • Oversee the creation of policy materials for advocacy efforts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • At least seven years' relevant work experience
  • Minimum two years' experience managing others
Salary and Benefits

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on climate policy. The salary for this position is approximately $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
