Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implementation: Develop electrical system designs and specifications for equipment and facility upgrades, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintenance Support: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and optimize plant operations. Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
  • Project Management: Lead and support electrical projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with internal teams and external contractors.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, motors, and instrumentation.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all electrical systems are designed and maintained to meet safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC) and environmental regulations. Conduct risk assessments and ensure electrical systems comply with company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, energy savings, and cost reductions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including electrical schematics, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance records.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for electrical systems and equipment issues.
  • Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and contractors for system upgrades, repairs, and purchasing electrical components.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a chemical manufacturing, industrial, or similar heavy industry setting.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in electrical design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, motor control, PLCs, and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE)
  • Experience with DCS/SCADA systems is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and provide innovative solutions.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Safety Awareness: In-depth knowledge of electrical safety practices and standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, or petrochemical industries.
  • Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and equipment.
  • Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance techniques.
