The construction of fairlife's advanced manufacturing facility is currently in progress. This cutting-edge, 750,000 square foot plant is set to become operational in the near future and will serve as a cornerstone for fairlife's expansion as a premier dairy nutrition provider. The facility will incorporate the latest technologies in the industry and is expected to create numerous job opportunities while processing significant volumes of milk daily.

Job Purpose: To design and implement a comprehensive training program within the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Maintenance Department leadership to formulate training strategies for various roles.
  • Monitor and document all training activities and competencies within the department, generating reports for site leadership.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure effective delivery of training programs and qualification of personnel.
  • Engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop job-specific training content and convert technical information into effective training materials (SOPs, instructional videos, etc.).
  • Evaluate training effectiveness, identify gaps, and work with leadership and SMEs to address training challenges.
  • Assist in the creation and management of a maintenance technician apprenticeship program.
  • Oversee maintenance safety training, including arc flash, lockout/tagout, working at heights, and confined spaces.
  • Maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) content specific to the department and ensure its operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate all departmental training sessions, both internally and with external vendors.
  • Manage a training calendar and communicate upcoming training events to leadership and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Background in mechanical manufacturing or a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, maintenance, and manufacturing terminology.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs and department leaders.
  • Capability to work independently while managing projects and timelines.
  • Proactive, adaptable, detail-oriented, and results-driven mindset.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment and adjust hours as needed.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and styles.
  • Ability to create structured learning paths and supporting training documentation.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and possess above-average computer skills.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, eLearning authoring tools, and video editing software is advantageous.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Reaching and bending may be required.
  • Exposure to potential hazards such as machinery and confined spaces.
  • Specific atmospheric conditions may include exposure to ammonia.
  • Ability to work at heights as necessary.

Food Safety Responsibilities:

  • Report any repairs or adjustments needed that could impact product quality or food safety.
  • Understand and comply with the color-coded container policy in production areas.
  • Fulfill all duties necessary to meet company, customer, and government standards.
  • Take proactive measures to prevent nonconformities related to food safety and product quality.
  • Identify and document any issues concerning food safety and quality.
  • Control the processing or delivery of nonconforming products until issues are resolved.
  • In the event of absence, responsibilities will be assumed by another qualified employee.

Position Reports To: Training Manager

Travel Requirements: Up to 50%
