Position Purpose

As a Registered Nurse in our Intensive Care Unit, you will provide care and support to patients who require additional care than most patients. Your duties will include:

  • Monitoring vital signs
  • Providing emergency response care
  • Managing a patient's life support system maintenance

You will evaluate and monitor patients' progress, identify any sudden or subtle changes in their medical condition, and administer medications intravenously by injection or via gastric tubes. You will also deliver regular updates of patients' progress to doctors, patients, and their families.

You will perform approved diagnostic or therapeutic procedures according to the patients' clinical status, respond to health emergencies when called upon, and alert appropriate doctors. You will evaluate patients' laboratory data and vital signs to determine emergency intervention needs.

You will care for patients' needs throughout their recovery journey in ICU, advocate for patients and families' needs, and provide emotional support to patients and their families. You will set up and monitor medical equipment and devices like medical ventilators, oxygen delivery devices, transducers, and pressure lines.

You will assess patients' pain level and sedation requirements and maintain patient records.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse Licensure in good standing through State of Texas (required)

AHA BLS certification (required)

AHA ACLS certification within six (6) months of employment (required)

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English (required)

ICU Registered Nurse experience (preferred)
