Porter/Custodial

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Big Y. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive environment for our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize the meat cutting area, kitchen, and bakery area to ensure a high level of food safety and quality.
• Maintain proper department conditions and supplies, including racks, sales floor, bottle redemption area, closets, and workstations.
• Operate equipment and machinery safely and efficiently to perform maintenance and janitorial duties.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in custodial or maintenance work preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
