Job Summary

The Orthodontic Clinical Support Specialist partners with the North American Dental Group practice team to provide exceptional clinical support to patients receiving orthodontic care. This role involves preparing patients for treatment, assisting the orthodontist with materials and equipment, and ensuring a seamless patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides chair-side clinical support to orthodontists, including charting, operatory setup and cleanup, and patient education.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction, and ensures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating doctor.
  • Assists with wire changes, bracket removal, and adhesive application, takes impressions, and prepares teeth for bonding.
  • Prepares treatment estimates for review and discussion with patients.
  • Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
  • Prepares patients, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists the dentist during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years' experience in a dental or orthodontic setting.
  • State licensure where specified.
  • Valid Dental Radiographer License for respective state requirements.
  • CPR Certification Required.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patients.
