Temporary Employment Services (TES) operates within the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, serving as an internal support center to fulfill the temporary staffing requirements of the university. TES is dedicated to providing skilled and committed temporary personnel across a range of roles to address the staffing demands throughout the campus. Temporary positions may arise for various reasons, including: Covering for regular employees who are temporarily unavailable Providing additional support during peak periods or unusual workloads Assisting with specific projects Seasonal employment opportunities Responding to urgent staffing needs If you are seeking a valuable employment experience, TES offers an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your professional capabilities while contributing to Auburn University and gaining significant experience in the higher education sector.
Note: AU students are not eligible for TES positions.
Key Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, maintaining vigilance for suspicious activities, individuals, or signs of theft or damage. Report any emergencies such as fires, safety hazards, or criminal activities to the appropriate authorities. Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas by securing buildings and facilities, and managing entry according to established protocols. Monitor CCTV systems for any criminal behavior, ensuring all surveillance equipment is functioning properly. Perform visual inspections of high-traffic areas and report any security breaches or emergency situations. Provide support to emergency personnel by documenting critical footage and assisting in investigations. Operate night security shuttles to ensure safe transportation for students across campus and nearby locations. Maintain vehicles in safe working order and accurately document ridership throughout the shift, submitting reports to the supervisor. Utilize communication tools such as two-way radios and dispatch logs to coordinate security operations effectively. The responsibilities outlined above represent the primary duties associated with this position. Specific tasks may vary based on departmental needs, and additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and successful completion of the state driving examination to operate university vehicles. Preferred Qualifications
