Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse in our Intensive Care Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to CLABSI and CAUTI protocols to ensure a safe and infection-free environment for our patients.
• Perform venipuncture, IV infusion therapy, and pump usage to administer medications and fluids as needed.
• Conduct wound care assessments, documentations, and wound prevention protocols as per policy to promote healing and prevent complications.
• Complete Plan of Care, initiate, review, and resolve based on diagnosis and history to ensure comprehensive care.
• Complete assessments and reassessments and required documentation accurately and timely to ensure continuity of care.
• Render appropriate nutritional care, including enteral and parenteral therapies, to meet the nutritional needs of our patients.
• Administer medications, including critical medications, and evaluate response to ensure effective treatment.
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols, including hand hygiene, PPE, and universal precautions, to prevent the spread of infection.
• Administer blood and blood products as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
• Perform chest PT, oral, naso, tracheostomy, endo, and tracheal suctioning to maintain airway patency and promote respiratory function.
• Activate Core Measures and Septic Protocols as indicated to ensure timely and effective treatment.
• Report critical Lab, Radiology, EKG, and ABG values to MD according to policy to ensure prompt intervention.
• Interpret cardiac monitor rhythm and perform appropriate interventions to ensure effective treatment.
• Identify and respond to emergency situations to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ventilation management and pulmonary support to ensure optimal respiratory function.
• Adapt to varied age-specific patient populations, including infants, toddlers, adults, and others, to provide individualized care.
• Identify concomitant health and social needs of patients to ensure comprehensive care.
• Ensure proper discharge instructions and medication reconciliation, including follow-up referral, to ensure a smooth transition of care.
• Assist with bedside interventional procedures to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
• Document patients' pain assessment, pain goal, and documents prn effectiveness of pain medications within 1 hour of administration to ensure effective pain management.
• Administer Stat medications within one half hour of physician's order to ensure timely treatment.
• Verify all physician orders in Careview to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Demonstrate proficiency in administration of emergency medications and drips to ensure effective treatment.
• Report any changes in patients' condition immediately to either Hospitalist or Attending Physician to ensure prompt intervention.
• Document for restraints done per protocol to ensure compliance with policy.
• Complete documentation for patient transfers to another facility to ensure continuity of care.
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by completing assignments and charting within the designated time of their shift to ensure efficient use of resources.
• Initiate DVT prophylaxis when appropriate to prevent complications.
• Proficient in neuromuscular blocking agents and train of four to ensure effective treatment.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Current NJ State RN license
• BSN preferred
• BLS, ACLS certifications - AHA approved
• Minimum of 2 Years of experience in Intensive Care Unit
