Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at The Alden Network. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct nursing care to our customers and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by our nursing assistants.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to our customers, adhering to current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Supervise and instruct nursing assistants on various topics to promote job knowledge and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for each customer, identifying their problems and needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to stay up-to-date on the latest nursing practices and procedures.
  • Perform routine charting duties, including documenting customer care plans, progress notes, and medication records.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring accuracy and adherence to stop order policies.
  • Participate in the orientation of new customers and family members to our facility, providing education and support as needed.
  • Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by physicians, and notify customers and family members of changes in their conditions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, ensuring the highest level of quality care and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in the State of Illinois.
  • Current CPR certificate or willingness to become certified within two weeks of employment.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability, with a willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Physical ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, with the capacity to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, and customers in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position, with a focus on providing high-quality care and customer satisfaction.
Working Conditions

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions, including exposure to the HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. The ability to work effectively with customers, family members, personnel, and support agencies is essential.
