Overview:
The Pipeline Project Engineer will be an integral part of the Project Execution Team, focusing on significant natural gas pipeline integrity projects, retrofits, replacements, and hydrotest transmission initiatives, as well as planning for distribution work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide project support across various responsibilities.
- Comprehend project scope, budget, and timelines.
- Assist in the early development of technical scopes.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders on all project-related tasks.
- Conduct record research and gather information at client site offices.
- Deliver engineering outputs that meet company standards and requirements.
- Lead and coordinate design efforts for projects.
- Manage activities related to technical advancements, scheduling, and resolving engineering design challenges.
- Review design drawings for constructability and accuracy at various design stages.
- Work alongside the Project Manager to select specialized design options.
- Oversee drawings created by other team members.
- Direct the integration of technical activities and deliverables.
- Support client meetings with stakeholders and vendors.
- Monitor project schedules to ensure timely execution.
- Ensure all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
- Coordinate with the project team to address potential risks.
- Evaluate and authorize design modifications, specifications, and drawing releases.
Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in gas projects is mandatory.
- Experience in planning distribution work is essential.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited Engineering program or relevant field experience.
- 2-8 years of engineering experience is required.
- Familiarity with design and visualization software, particularly AutoCAD.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams.
- Ability to interpret documents, including safety regulations and operational manuals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Capability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
- A coachable engineer with a strong desire to learn and self-motivation.
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of CFR 49 Parts 192 and 195.
- Familiarity with ASME/ANSI B314 and B31.8 codes and regulations.
- Engineer-in-Training certification.
- PE License is preferred.
- Experience with SAP and Citrix is advantageous.
