Quality Engineer

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a seasoned Quality Engineer to support manufacturing process improvements and contribute to the strategic goal of quality improvement.

This role will lead continuous efforts in meeting quality, cost, and on-time delivery while assuring customer expectations and supplier quality management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning and managing product quality, product qualification, and design validation;
  • Process analysis and improvement through the implementation of statistical tools and Six Sigma methodology;
  • Leading and participating in specific production yield improvement projects;
  • Participating and contributing in New Product Introduction Process and understanding specification development and verification upon transition to production;
  • Carrying out failure analysis on customer returns and working with the customer to resolve quality issues;
  • Partnering with suppliers to carry out failure analysis and ensuring supplier correction of issues to prevent re-occurrence;
  • Assisting in training and maintenance of the site Quality Management Systems;
  • Supporting the site's Corrective and Preventative action process, including proper closure and root cause analysis;
  • Supporting and conducting internal and external audits;
  • Quality performance analysis and reporting (suppliers and customers);
  • Leading Material Review Board and disposition of Non-Conforming Materials.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, with experience in a manufacturing and/or regulatory environment;
  • A minimum of five (5) years' of experience, with background in Aviation, Space, and Defense manufacturing environment (an asset);
  • Formal training in statistical techniques in a manufacturing environment, with Six Sigma training and certification highly desired;
  • Ability to take responsibility for quality of all products, including assembly, testing, and yields.

ASQ certified Quality Engineer and/or ASQ certified Black Belt is beneficial.

Please note that U.S. Citizenship is required due to Department of Energy requirements.

This position requires the use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
