Job Duties
  • Facilitate patient throughout and enhance patient satisfaction with testing process.
  • Conduct computerized electrocardiogram testing, using proper chest and limb lead placement.
  • Assess quality of tracing as related to baseline stability, lack of electrical interference, and freedom from artifact.
  • Record technically accurate EKG tracing and place preliminary copy in patient's chart.
  • Communicate presence of any life-threatening arrhythmia to patient's nurse.
  • Perform Thoracic Bio-impedance procedure and place completed report on patient's chart.
  • Print daily log and check against daily transaction log.
  • Enter charges as needed and credits for services not rendered.
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot minor equipment problems.
  • Report malfunctions to manager and notify Biomed.
  • Facilitate storage and retrieval of records.
  • Check and order supplies, leads, electrodes, and paper with consideration for cost containment.
  • Report errors promptly and take appropriate follow-up action to rectify error.
  • Serve as patient and family advocate.
  • Respond to patient's and/or family's complaints in an appropriate manner.
  • Report complaints to Manager or their designee in a timely manner.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities as directed.
  • Attend at least 80% of scheduled staff meetings and attend 100% of mandatory educational sessions.
  • Work cooperatively with all staff and support staff new to environment.
