Situated within a five-hour radius of a significant portion of the U.S. population, Watkins Glen International stands as the leading road racing venue in North America, recognized multiple times as the "Best NASCAR Track" by USA Today readers. The facility hosts a variety of premier motorsport events throughout the year.
Compensation: The pay scale for this role is set at $15.00 per hour.
Position Type: This is an event-driven role with variable hours each week.
General Work Hours: Standard hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, subject to change based on event schedules.
Qualifications:
- Possess common sense, sound judgment, and logical thinking abilities;
- Demonstrate reliability and punctuality; commitment to attendance is essential;
- Familiarity with the Weekday Safety Team Handbook;
- Maintain vigilance to observe and report on-track activities;
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Ensure safe communication and control of race vehicles by:
- Utilizing flags and hand signals to inform drivers about track conditions and vehicle status;
- Communicating with the Chief Steward and other officials regarding track conditions and any pertinent situations requiring official decisions;
- Executing necessary emergency actions to safeguard the lives of personnel, drivers, and spectators in case of incidents;
- Ensuring a clear racing course.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
