Job Title: Registered Nurse Research / Clinical Research

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Research / Clinical Research Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to conduct clinical trials and provide exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to work closely with our research team, patients, and families to ensure the success of our clinical trials. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a passion for research and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with research coordinators, investigators, and nurses to identify and recruit eligible trial participants
  • Collect, compile, and analyze data, and coordinate related patient care activities in the inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Deliver professional nursing care and evaluate patients' responses to study protocols
  • Provide consultation to primary physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and research coordinators regarding protocol implementation
  • Present study findings to interested groups both inside and outside of the hospital
  • Coordinate and implement the research study according to the study protocol
  • Perform required nursing procedures, including blood draws, IV infusions, and collection, preparation, and shipping of samples
  • Work with physicians, nurses, research coordinators, and patients in the selection of and participation by appropriate patients
  • Obtain all necessary approvals and informed consent forms; screen and enroll patients into the studies
  • Assess patient participation continuously in light of ethical considerations
  • Act as liaison between patient and other members of the team regarding patient care activities relating to the research protocol
  • With assistance from research coordinators, responsible for IRB submissions for protocols
Requirements:
  • Licensure as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) current
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to converse comfortably with patients and their caregivers
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively and complete tasks
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures
  • Ability to identify issues/projects and initiate plans to address asking for direction when appropriate
  • Ability to develop a common vision for diverse communities, communicate effectively, and take ownership and responsibility for activities
  • Interpersonal/communication: Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication, and public speaking skills
  • Information Systems/Technology Skills: Exceptional computer skills (including operating systems, databases, electronic mail, Internet, spreadsheets, and other office management systems)
Working Conditions:
  • Normal office conditions
  • Ambulatory neurology clinic (Wang 8)
  • Requires travel wherever needed to represent MGH ALS Clinic. Must have own automobile for local travel.
  • Require attendance at meetings outside of regularly scheduled hours.
