Job Summary: Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled professional to provide direct patient care to members with communication and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will evaluate, diagnose, develop, and implement therapy/treatment programs to improve or restore communicative facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer diagnostic tests and provide individualized treatment to adults and children for various communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairment, and neurological defects.
- Advise physicians of test results and recommend and implement appropriate treatments.
- Monitor patient progress and collaborate with physicians when altering treatment programs.
- Serve as a consultant on interdisciplinary teams and provide in-service training to healthcare staff.
- Develop and present in-service programs in areas of specialty.
- Perform diagnostic clinical swallowing evaluations and interpret results for referring physicians and medical staff.
- Participate in the design and implementation of therapy programs addressing speech, language, voice, and swallowing problems.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
- Adjust treatment programs to improve effectiveness and meet client needs.
Requirements:
- Masters or Doctorate Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- One year of clinical experience in dysphasia management and Speech Pathology.
- Speech-Language Pathologist License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and utilize theories, principles, practices, techniques, and methods of Speech Therapy.
