Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer diagnostic tests and provide individualized treatment to adults and children for various communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairment, and neurological defects.
  • Advise physicians of test results and recommend and implement appropriate treatments.
  • Monitor patient progress and collaborate with physicians when altering treatment programs.
  • Serve as a consultant on interdisciplinary teams and provide in-service training to healthcare staff.
  • Develop and present in-service programs in areas of specialty.
  • Perform diagnostic clinical swallowing evaluations and interpret results for referring physicians and medical staff.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of therapy programs addressing speech, language, voice, and swallowing problems.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Adjust treatment programs to improve effectiveness and meet client needs.

Requirements:

  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • One year of clinical experience in dysphasia management and Speech Pathology.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and utilize theories, principles, practices, techniques, and methods of Speech Therapy.
