Job Summary

At MFSTalent, we are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities. You will evaluate the home environment to determine any factors that may impact therapy, such as equipment needs or modifications to improve the patient's ability to function at home.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
Evaluate the home environment to determine any factors that may impact therapy, such as equipment needs or modifications to improve the patient's ability to function at home.
Assist patients with cognitive impairments related to memory, problem-solving, attention, and executive function, especially those recovering from strokes or traumatic brain injuries.
Provide swallowing therapy to patients who have difficulty eating or drinking due to dysphagia.
Develop and implement home-based exercises or activities that patients can practice between sessions to reinforce therapy goals and promote improvement.
Provide training and education to family members and caregivers on how to support the patient's communication and swallowing needs.
Instruct patients and families on the proper use and maintenance of speech-generating devices or other assistive technology used to aid communication.
Communicate outcomes and progress to the broader healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists involved in the patient's care.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
1-2 years related experience
1 YR of Skilled Home Health Experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Health/Dental/Vision Insurance
Sick time off
