Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of overall surveying experience, including 4 years as a survey crew leader. Proficiency in ALTA, topographic, and construction surveys is essential. Experience with TXDOT surveys and SUE is advantageous.
  • Skills: Proficient in operating field equipment, effective communication, accurate field note-taking, strong mathematical abilities, and the capability to work independently when required. Willingness to travel nationally as project demands dictate.
  • Duties: Oversee the survey crew, maintain field notes, liaise with office personnel, mentor junior staff, operate robotic instruments, total stations, data collectors, GPS systems (including fast static, RTK, and VRS), autolevels, and ensure nightly data downloads into computers.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid Driver's License, strong work ethic, willingness to travel, competitive pay and benefits, per diem for travel, reliability, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and readiness to work beyond 40 hours per week as necessary. Travel may be required for up to 12 days depending on project needs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 4 to 8 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be necessary based on the position.

Performance Expectations

  • Engage in cross-training as needed to strengthen the team.
  • Clearly communicate your workflow requirements to your team and supervisor.
  • Adhere to all KCI policies and procedures.
  • Accurately document and report daily forms as per project specifications.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, staff, and supervisors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Proactively address issues at the lowest level.
  • Comply with project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy before submission.
  • Submit accurate timesheets, mileage, and expense reports punctually each week.
  • Conduct daily job site safety inspections and take immediate action to document and resolve any issues.
  • Understand and follow OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of your work each day using the provided forms.
  • Inspect and rectify your own work prior to submission.
  • Execute all assigned tasks in accordance with industry standards.
  • Review all tasks assigned to you before commencing work.
  • Familiarize yourself with all applicable industry standards for your assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with your team to optimize production and accuracy to achieve our objectives.
  • Possess the specific knowledge required to perform all duties.
  • Maintain all necessary certifications and participate in required training courses.
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant industry standards for projects, executing all tasks per standards and client requirements.
