POSITION SUMMARY: The Teller I is responsible for managing cash transactions and maintaining accurate records of financial exchanges. This role involves a variety of essential functions to ensure efficient banking operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process deposits of checks and cash, ensuring amounts are verified and checks are properly endorsed.
  • Facilitate cashing of checks and disbursement of funds after confirming signatures and customer account balances.
  • Record customer transactions in the banking system and issue printed receipts for all transactions.
  • Implement holds on accounts for uncollected funds as necessary.
  • Manage daily cash supply, including counting and ordering cash as needed.
  • Reconcile cash drawer and vault at the end of each shift, ensuring totals match system records.
  • Handle deposits from automated teller machines and night depositories, including counting and balancing cash.
  • Accept and process loan payments from customers.
  • Prepare and document cash transactions for customer change orders.
  • Process large coin deposits efficiently.
  • Manage savings bond redemption transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Receive and document customer requests for stop payments on items.
  • Prepare and record transactions related to account closures.
  • Promote and explain banking products and services, including cashier's checks and savings bonds.
  • Prepare and verify wire transfer documentation as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including percentage calculations.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations.
  • Spanish language skills are preferred but not mandatory.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Potential working hours include Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to Noon.
