Key Responsibilities: Oversee the operational integrity of the facility, ensuring all aspects of the Environmental Services division are maintained for optimal property presentation.

Core Duties and Responsibilities: This description does not encompass all functions of the role, which may include incidental tasks. All listed duties are essential job functions. Employees are expected to adhere to additional job-related instructions and perform other duties as requested by their supervisor.   1. Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders, embodying the #AddLife culture in all interactions.
  2. Recruit, inspire, train, mentor, and guide staff to ensure Team Members receive the necessary leadership and resources to meet established goals.
  3. Foster a supportive and motivating environment for Team Members.
  4. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear guidance in task assignments and instructions.
  5. Assist in setting departmental standards, guidelines, and objectives, while also managing administrative processes such as budgeting and staffing for efficient operations.
  6. Evaluate activities in Environmental Services and Maintenance to enhance staffing levels, working conditions, and other factors impacting service quality and profitability.
  7. Manage utility expenses and spearhead initiatives to minimize costs through improved operational efficiencies and the adoption of new technologies.
  8. Establish preventative maintenance programs and maintain service records, supporting construction and renovation efforts.
  9. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical system malfunctions, including HVAC, plumbing, and other equipment throughout the facility.
  10. Supervise the maintenance of the building's exterior, ensuring curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, painting, and gardening.
  11. Assign, oversee, and verify the completion of routine maintenance and operations of the facility's physical structure, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, ensuring safe and effective operations.
  12. Ensure compliance with OSHA and Hazcom regulations, including the maintenance of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets.
  13. Address guest complaints and concerns appropriately.
  14. Schedule Team Members to maximize productivity and guest satisfaction while minimizing labor and material costs.
  15. Plan and conduct Team Member meetings, attending related meetings to gather and share relevant information.
  16. Continuously inspect the condition of furniture, fixtures, and decor in public areas, making recommendations and assisting in the coordination of rehabilitation projects.
  17. Resolve issues within the scope of authority and recommend actions for problems beyond that scope to the supervisor.
  18. Keep the supervisor informed of significant activities.
  19. Review the work of subordinate employees to ensure adherence to management standards.
  20. Other duties as assigned.
Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities: In addition to the aforementioned duties, each Team Member has the following compliance responsibilities:
  • Participate in required training sessions provided by the Company.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary licenses.
  • Perform duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure minors are not permitted to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, consume alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Understand the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relevant to the Team Member's department.
  • Be aware of the Property's programs addressing problem gaming.
  • Report any known acts of wrongdoing.
Position Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. A minimum of five years in engineering, facility management, janitorial services, or a related field, with progressive supervisory or managerial experience is essential. An occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprenticeship training, in-plant training, and/or on-the-job training is required; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Experience with major mechanical systems, fire and life-safety equipment, grounds maintenance, parking, lighting systems, plumbing, kitchen equipment, electrical systems, controls, and other infrastructure is preferred. Proficiency in Excel and Word is required. Must be capable of formulating and communicating ideas and making independent decisions. Ability to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke, moderate to loud noise levels, and varying light conditions, including flashing lights.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinates who may oversee other employees. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit(s).
