The Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing the service operations at a leading Heavy Equipment Dealership in Auburn, WA. This role involves managing service processes to maximize return on investment, ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction, and growing profitable service labor sales.


Key Responsibilities:


Develop and implement an annual service budget to achieve realistic and measurable profit goals aligned with the dealership's financial and operational objectives.

Recruit, hire, and develop service personnel, and create individual development plans to retain key talent.
Coordinate the recruitment of new talent through local technical schools and programs.
Monitor and maintain management reports to audit department and employee performance.
Develop and adhere to a priority system for scheduling service work, both customer and internal.

Ensure timely completion and filing of manufacturer warranty and Product Improvement Program (PIP) claims according to manufacturer requirements.

Monitor warranty expense and recovery rates to meet company objectives.
Responsible for facility inspections, safety meetings, and coordinating annual safety inspections.
Schedule and assign job and work areas to employees based on their skills and knowledge.

Ensure the Service Department is equipped with necessary tools and service equipment is maintained in good working order.

Collaborate with the Store Manager to maintain building and yard facilities.
Coordinate dealership training programs and service-related customer clinics.
Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times, both inside and outside the dealership.
Monitor metrics on a monthly basis to ensure achievement of departmental goals.
Introduce the dealership's service and product offerings to prospective customers through cold calls and visits.
Maintain and develop current customer relationships.
Perform other functions or duties as directed by management in line with the dealership's objectives.

Requirements:
Minimum 3 years' experience in management and service department operations or a related field.
Heavy construction equipment experience is required for this position.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to use standard computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office, and internet functions.
Good human relations and effective oral and written communication skills.
Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations.
Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
