Job Title: Maintenance Technician at MacKenzie-Childs

Overview:

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient functioning of production machinery and climate control systems, alongside the maintenance of lighting and plumbing infrastructures within the facility.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the upkeep of HVAC systems under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on Kilns, Slipcast, and RamPress machinery, addressing any operational challenges that arise.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical circuits, lighting, and plumbing installations.
  • Assist with carpentry projects and special events, including sales events.

Supervisory Duties:

Oversee the activities of the Maintenance Assistant and Custodial Assistant, including recommendations for hiring, training, and task assignments.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is mandatory.
  • Vocational or technical training in HVAC, Construction, or Plumbing is preferred.
  • Five to eight years of pertinent experience is required.
  • Intermediate proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is essential.

Special Requirements:

  • A valid Driver's License is necessary.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Location: Aurora, NY

Skills and Abilities:

  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and excel in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

Equipment Utilized:

  • Computer, Printer, Photocopier, Telephone, Scanner, Calculator, Hand tools, Power tools, Forklift, Pallet jack, Hand Held Radio, and Grinder.
  • Proficient in software applications such as Outlook and CMMS.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, utilizing Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection, Gloves, and Respirator.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Physical capabilities include sitting, standing, lifting, and manual dexterity.
  • High levels of mental and visual attention are required for effective planning and execution.
  • Ability to lift items weighing over 50 pounds occasionally.

Environmental Conditions:

The position may involve exposure to a variety of environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
