Job Summary

The University of Chicago's Division of Biological Sciences and Pritzker School of Medicine is seeking an exceptional academic neurosurgeon leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-renowned institution and contribute to the advancement of neurosurgical care and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Department of Neurosurgery in achieving academic, educational, and clinical excellence
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance research programs, clinical services, and training programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the University to promote a culture of institutional stewardship and transparency
  • Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Department and the University
  • Hold a medical doctorate or equivalent, be eligible for medical licensure in Illinois and Indiana, and hold active board certification by the American Board of Neurological Surgery or comparable credentials
