Position Overview:

RiverWoods Exeter is seeking a dedicated Activities Assistant, referred to as a Healthcare Engagement Specialist, to join our team.

In this role, you will collaborate with our residents to promote a more active lifestyle and facilitate enjoyable programs within our community.

The ideal candidate will possess experience working with older adults and demonstrate a genuine passion for engaging with individuals. This is a full-time role that may require weekend availability.

This position involves assisting in the planning, execution, and assessment of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, in alignment with the residents' evaluations and care plans, as directed by the Life Engagement Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive demeanor and a commitment to teamwork while addressing the needs of residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Support all facets of the RiverWoods community.
  • Assist in the design, development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of the facility's activities program.
  • Execute activity protocols as instructed by the Life Engagement Manager, including creating decorations, setting up equipment and crafts, escorting residents to activity areas, and distributing prizes.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities, foster conversations with residents regularly, and conduct individual or group activities to instill purpose and meaning in their lives.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives for the activity department as requested and participate in facility inspections conducted by authorized agencies as necessary.

While continued education in a related field is preferred, it is not mandatory. A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare or a related area is required.
