Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated HVAC (Thermal) Technical Specialist with expertise in Critical Infrastructure Data Centers and precision cooling systems. This role involves servicing specialized HVAC and refrigeration equipment to meet customer contract requirements. The technician will be responsible for conducting inspections, testing, adjustments, and thermal repairs in commercial and industrial environments related to data centers. Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Thermal systems, including split systems, DX systems, glycol, and controls.
  • Provide training to customers and contractors on the operation of Thermal equipment.
  • Efficiently perform standard Preventative Maintenance on all Liebert/Vertiv equipment with minimal supervision, including familiarity with the Liebert/Vertiv iCOM control system.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, including compressor replacements and parts changes.
  • Skillfully solder and braze refrigerant and water lines.
  • Maintain daily communication with dispatch regarding job details, including equipment ID, estimated completion time, labor hours, and parts utilized.
  • Collaborate with sales associates and senior team members to develop customer solutions.
  • Diagnose network issues and liaise with various vendors for successful integration with building management systems (BMS).
  • Interpret and utilize schematics and control circuits effectively.
  • Engage professionally with customers, representing Liebert/Vertiv and DVL positively.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including knowledge of MSDS, tool safety, equipment safety, and ladder safety guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a one-year certificate from a college or trade school, along with five years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience with Liebert/Vertiv equipment; relevant data center thermal experience is required.
  • Possession of EPA Certification.
  • Able to work independently during service calls.
  • Proficient in using a vacuum pump, micron gauge, and refrigerant reclaim machine.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to customer sites in a company vehicle.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Availability for scheduled on-call and overtime duties.
  • Prior safety training and OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred.

The compensation for this position starts at $50.00/hr or higher, based on relevant experience with Liebert/Vertiv or similar systems, in addition to on-call pay, overtime, quarterly bonuses, a work truck, laptop, and iPhone.
