Trauma Center Advanced Practice Provider

The role involves evaluating, treating, and addressing the needs of patients requiring primary or acute care within the trauma center, employing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
- Evaluate health conditions and potential: design, execute, and assess healthcare strategies for patients and their families.
- Coordinate and oversee treatment plans for patients, collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals.
- Educate and counsel patients on their health status and the indicators of potential health issues.
- Monitor and assess the growth and development of patients.
- Conduct clinical and therapeutic interventions.
- Lead initiatives to develop nursing care protocols and standards for the unit.
- Support the planning and evaluation of quality improvement measures within the department.
- Perform comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations, documenting findings accurately.
- Recognize normal and abnormal clinical findings, consulting with physicians to establish treatment plans as necessary.
For positions involving direct patient interaction, it is essential to acquire and demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate assessment, treatment, or care as determined by the department's patient demographics.
Specifically, candidates must exhibit proficiency in: 1) gathering and interpreting patient information; 2) understanding growth and developmental stages; and 3) recognizing the spectrum of treatment required for patients.
Competency RequirementsDemonstration of competency is required through initial orientation and ongoing validation to independently perform designated tasks and additional responsibilities as outlined in the job description and department-specific competency checklist.
General Duties and Expectations- Maintain and document all required educational qualifications.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Credentials:
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Mandatory)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Mandatory) to be obtained within one year of hire
- Basic Life Support (Mandatory) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
