Job Summary:

The City of Raleigh North Carolina is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Police Evidence Custodian. This non-supervisory, non-sworn position is responsible for providing custodial control and maintenance of security for physical evidence and other properties in the possession of the Raleigh Police Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receipt and storage of physical evidence and other properties
  • Maintenance of accurate inventory control and tracking systems
  • Ensuring the security and integrity of evidence and properties
  • Collaboration with law enforcement personnel to facilitate the collection and processing of evidence
  • Adherence to departmental policies and procedures regarding evidence handling and storage

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a related field, such as inventory control or property management
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
