Agency Clarification

This position is open to all current or former federal employees with competitive eligibility, as well as eligible applicants under various veteran and hiring authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the upkeep, repair, and restoration of stone structures and surfaces.
  • Collaborate with senior staff in preparing test mixes and formulating mortars as per established guidelines.
  • Under minimal supervision, remove damaged sections of walls or similar structures in readiness for repair.
  • With close oversight, cap, replace, grout, and reinforce walls to ensure repairs closely resemble the original structure.
  • Handle the loading, unloading, and transportation of materials such as cement, soil, and stone to job sites.

Employment Conditions

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Appointment is contingent upon a background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Compliance with the Selective Service Registration Act is required for male applicants.
  • Participation in the Direct Deposit Electronic Funds Transfer Program is mandatory.
  • Uniform adherence is required, with a uniform allowance provided.
  • Flexibility to work on-call, during evenings, weekends, holidays, and shifts may be necessary.
